Time For Thursday Mornings Prayer Of The Day
Overcoming Obstacles Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you that your grace is beyond measure. Throughout eternity, you have been working for my good and the good of all your people. May I know your power and grace to overcome the obstacles in my life. May the things that stand in my way become examples of your limitless power. Clothe me with power as I live my life in your righteous name. May I prosper and bring you glory on the earth. May I be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Strength for Life Prayer
Everlasting Father, thank you that you are strong and true, abounding in love for me. As I face obstacles that seem insurmountable, please show your power and give me victory and success. For all the days of my life, I ask that you will give me the strength I need to run the race set before me. I pray that my life would be a testimony of your grace and love. Give me the strength to endure, the power to overcome and the peace to be content in every circumstance. To you be all the praise and honor. Amen.
Conquering Prayer
Loving Father, thank you that you are my creator, you made me and you love me. As I feel overwhelmed with the barriers that stand in my way, may my eyes be lifted to behold your power and glory. You are the God who holds the stars in your hand and yet you reach down to bless me. May I see your all-conquering power at work. May I rejoice in your glorious victory, may I praise your majestic name. May I live as your beloved child, receiving your everlasting kindness. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Victory Prayer
Powerful Father, thank you that you are my rock and redeemer. You are the God of reconciliation. When I am in a situation and I can not see a solution, remind me that nothing is beyond your reconciling power. May I know your affection and find encouragement that you will never let me go. At the cross, Jesus won the ultimate victory over Satan, sin and death. May I live in the freedom that has been won through that victory. When I face setbacks, I ask that you would turn failure into triumph and pain into praise. Amen.
Fight for Me Prayer
O Lord my God, your power endures throughout all generations. In the difficulties that I face, may I know that you go before me and fight for me. Let me rest in you while you fight my battles. Like David conquered Goliath, I call on you to defeat the giant obstacles in my life. You are the solid foundation on which I build my life, make me secure through the storms that will come. Now to you who are able to do far more abundantly than all that I ask, be glory throughout every generation. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Sovereign King Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you that, through the blood of Jesus, all my sin has been forgiven. Therefore I can pray to you with confidence that you will hear me and act in my defense. Break down any obstacle that stands in the path you have planned for me. Your love is amazing and never runs dry, I ask that you would pour it out abundantly into my life. Your ways are unsearchable Lord, let me trust that you are directing my steps and your strength is all I need. To you, the Sovereign King, be all glory. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Powerful Name Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you that you use your unending power for my good. You left the throne of heaven to enter our world. Your power healed the sick and cast out demons, I ask that you would use that same power to demolish the obstacles that stand before me. Your light can drive out all the darkness that surrounds me. Your word can break the chains that are holding me down. May I know the freedom I have in you and may I be filled with your love that I might live a life worthy of your wonderful name. Amen.
Eternal Perspective Prayer
Eternal God, thank you that, no matter what I have done, I have not exhausted the supply of your grace. As I stand looking at a dead end with no way out, help me to fix my eyes on you. Thank you that I do not need to fear any condemnation because Jesus lives in me and I live in him. May I live my life filled with the hope that I will be crowned with your glory for eternity. Give me an eternal mindset that puts my earthly problems into the correct perspective. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Overpower Obstacles Prayer
God of all love, I thank you that you pour out the joy of heaven into my life. Fill me with your power so that I can overpower any obstacle and survive any storm. Hear my prayer and deal with me mercifully Lord, according to your compassionate heart. When my mind is troubled and my confidence shaken, let me be reminded of your promises to me. Set my heart free from the fear of failure and give me a breakthrough in my current situation. You are the almighty king whose rule is never-ending. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
'Horror story': Navy vet, never set foot in Capitol on Jan. 6, but held in solitary!
Accused of leading 'military-style attack' despite no evidence
Accused of "plotting an attack on the Capitol" on Jan. 6 even though he never went inside the building that day, 66-year-old Navy veteran Thomas Caldwell spent 49 days in solitary confinement.
"I was defendant No. 1 in a conspiracy," he explained. "They said I conspired and I actually put together a military-style attack on the Capitol. Then I stormed into the Capitol and did all these terrible things."
Caldwell said "they even claimed I threatened our lawfully elected representatives in Congress."
"Total claptrap," Caldwell told Carlson.
"But they sent that information all around the world, across all the media platforms."
Caldwell was an FBI section chief from 2009 to 2010 after retiring as a lieutenant commander from the Navy.
in a panic at 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 19, saying, "The FBI is at the door and I’m not kidding."
The Navy vet told Kelly there was "a full SWAT team, armored vehicles with a battering ram, and people screaming at me."
"People who looked like stormtroopers were pointing M4 weapons at me, covering me with red [laser] dots."
In his interview with Carlson, Caldwell said he and his wife hired a lawyer who demanded that prosecutors present their evidence.
"When they couldn't produce it, they immediately changed their position," Caldwell said.
"Now they say the exact opposite of what they said. Originally they said I was the commander of the Oath Keepers. That I did this terrible thing to go inside and attack Congress," he said.
Now prosecutors acknowledge he wasn't even a member of Oath Keepers, didn't plan an attack and didn't go inside the Capitol.
But still, Tucker, we're mired in a legal battle against the government with no end in sight," Caldwell said.
The couple's finances "have been decimated."
"We're Christians, and we believe God has us in the palm of his hand, [but] things aren't looking all that great, and we're at the edge of losing the family farm," he said.
No One Has The Right To Take Away Anyone's Freedom
Churchill made in 1940, as he sought to encourage the British public to rise to the challenge and not give up hope. Some historians argue that a major goal of this speech was to draw greater interest and support from the United States, which at that point was not involved in the war.
The wartime prime minister Winston Churchill's victorious address to the nation marked the end of the war in Europe, on 8 May 1945.
But his speeches through the course of the war galvanised and heartened those fighting and enduring the dangers and privations of World War II.
"Winston Churchill's words inspired a nation," says the victorious prime minister's great grandson.
"What we want to do is to help inspire a new generation in their struggle against Covid."
As the country - and much of Europe - marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day in the most unusual of circumstances, Randolph Churchill is launching a competition for young people to try their hand at a rousing speech.
The key to writing a galvanising address is to "never give in", he told BBC Breakfast, adding: "They shouldn't be shy, they just crack on and do it, try their best, and if they don't succeed the first time, they should try again and again and again."
And he says it is the "spirit" of the nation that we "always get there in the end".

VE Day: 'Do not despair, do not yield'
A glance at some of Churchill's most memorable appearances at the dispatch box provide that extra inspiration.
Here are some examples of the wartime PM's speeches to Parliament, shared by the Commons' Hansard team:
'Strong horses'
When Churchill gave this speech in the Commons, he was yet to become prime minister.
But during a debate on Britain's disastrous campaign in Norway - leading to Neville Chamberlain's ousting from No 10 - Churchill spoke optimistically of the Navy being strengthened by Norway's merchant fleet.
Two days later, he would become PM and form his coalition government.
"Let me say that I am not advocating controversy... On the contrary, I say, let pre-war feuds die; let personal quarrels be forgotten, and let us keep our hatreds for the common enemy.
"Let party interest be ignored, let all our energies be harnessed, let the whole ability and forces of the nation be hurled into the struggle, and let all the strong horses be pulling on the collar."
House of Commons - 8 May 1940
Blood, toil, tears and sweat
After becoming prime minister, Churchill was facing calls from some to make peace with Hitler, as the loss of so many men in World War I was still a recent memory.
But in his first speech in the Commons as the country's new leader, he made it clear the only option for his government was to "wage war".
"I hope that any of my friends and colleagues, or former colleagues, who are affected by the political reconstruction, will make allowance, all allowance, for any lack of ceremony with which it has been necessary to act.
"I would say to the House, as I said to those who have joined this government: 'I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat'."
House of Commons - 13 May 1940
'Finest hour'
As the war raged on, Churchill used speeches to try and lift the spirits of the public, even when having to detail horrific scenarios in the war.
"Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this island or lose the war.
"If we can stand up to him all Europe may be free, and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands; but if we fail then the whole world, including the United States, and all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new dark age made more sinister, and perhaps more prolonged, by the lights of a perverted science.
"Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duty and so bear ourselves that if the British Commonwealth and Empire lasts for a thousand years men will still say, 'this was their finest hour'."
House of Commons - 18 June 1940
'We shall fight on the beaches'
This is perhaps Churchill's most famous speech, used in television and film programmes reflecting on the PM's life for decades to come.
It was not an address given live to the nation, but to the Commons, with only MPs and staff able to hear its debut.
However, there is no doubt it will be remembered as one of the most powerful political oratories of all time.
"The British Empire and the French Republic, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their native soil, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength.
"Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous states have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail.
"We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be.
"We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the new world, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."
